Welcome to the Sharks Swim Team! We are a group of parents and swimmers dedicated to a fun and supportive team environment, healthy competition, and improving young swimmers’ swimming technique.

The objectives of the Sharks swim team program are:

  • To create a positive and supportive team environment where team members are inspired to strive and excel.
  • To emphasize technique, development & conditioning through consistent participation.
  • To develop our swimmer’s competitive skills.
  • To create life-long swimmers.

The Sharks have had a successful, seasonal swim team at Los Ranchitos Cabana Club for over 25 years building on the Los Ranchitos Banditos history of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. The aim of the coaches and parent committee is to create a recreational, summer swim team environment that promotes good sportsmanship while developing competitive swim techniques for about 135 swimmers from ages 5-18 years.

Our trained, certified, experienced coaches are dedicated to making swimming fun, while building endurance and skills. The coaches’ philosophy is to develop confidence in swimming techniques while building stamina through “fun, friends, and fundamentals.”

The Sharks Team brings full and program member families together for a summer of LRCC community connections as parents cheer for the athletes while contributing to the team’s success through a variety of volunteer opportunities. Swimmers are required to have one parent or other responsible adult contribute approximately 30 hours over the course of the swim season. These hours are to be completed by working at least 2 team social events and working at every swim meet in which your swimmer is entered. Working at meets and social events is fun and provides a great opportunity to work side-by-side with other swim parents.

The team is a member of Valley Aquatic League along with 5 other local area swim teams including:

  • Encore (Dolphins)
  • Forest Park Cabana (Tsunamis)
  • Los Gatos Swim & Racquet Club Aquatics (Stingrays)
  • Rancho Rinconada Park & Rec (Dolphins)
  • Westgate (Gators)

Swim team fees cover up to 5 days of coaching/wk, 5 dual meets, the championship meet, swim team photos, spaghetti feed, pancake breakfast, the awards ceremony, equipment, coaches’ compensation and more. We welcome all families to join this wonderful program for summer fitness and fun.   Contact us here.

New families should select one of our LRCC membership levels to gain access to the registration process for our team.
